FAQ
How long can I hire a car for?
Our flexible hire starts from 28 days up to 24 months.
Do I need to commit to a long contract?
No. Unlike traditional leases, there are no long-term commitments. You are not tied into a 2–4 year agreement. You can return the car, or request a different vehicle, depending on availability. There are no early termination fees, as long as 28 days notice is given.
What’s included in the monthly price?
Your monthly price includes the vehicle, maintenance and support. Insurance and mileage packages vary, so we’ll discuss these with you when you request a quote to make sure you have the right setup.
Can I swap cars during my hire period?
Yes. If your needs change, you can switch to another vehicle type subject to stock. This flexibility is one of the main benefits compared to a fixed lease.
Is there an upfront cost?
We keep initial payments as flexible as possible. Any upfront payment will depend on the specific vehicle and your hire requirements. We’ll outline all costs clearly in your quotation.
How do I get a quote?
You’ll be sent to home.carmafm.co.uk, where you can get an instant quote online. It’s quick and easy, and you don’t need to call or email unless you want help.
What documents do I need?
You’ll need a valid driving licence, a recent payslip and a recent bank statement. These help us verify your details and set up your hire quickly.
Can businesses use your service?
Yes. We offer flexible hire options for businesses, contractors and temporary workers who need vehicles without long-term commitments.

What is a HEV, PHEV and EV?
Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV)
A hybrid electric vehicle uses a traditional petrol engine alongside an electric motor to improve fuel efficiency and reduce emissions. The battery is charged automatically while driving, so no external charging is required. This makes HEVs a good option if you want better fuel economy without needing access to a home or public charger.

Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV)
A plug-in hybrid combines a petrol engine with an electric motor and a larger rechargeable battery. This allows for short journeys to be driven on electric power alone, with the petrol engine available for longer trips. PHEVs must be charged externally, either at home or at a public charging point. When charged regularly, they can significantly reduce fuel use while still offering flexibility for longer journeys.

Electric Vehicle (EV or BEV)
An electric vehicle is powered entirely by electricity and does not have a petrol or diesel engine. It produces zero exhaust emissions and must be charged from an external power source, such as a home charger or public charging station. EVs are typically quieter, cheaper to run, and ideal for drivers who can charge regularly.

Which option is right for me?
A hybrid (HEV) may suit you if you want lower fuel costs and reduced emissions without needing to plug in. It’s ideal if you don’t have access to home charging and mainly do mixed town and motorway driving.

A plug-in hybrid (PHEV) could be a good choice if you can charge at home or work and often do shorter journeys, but still need the reassurance of a petrol engine for longer trips. Many drivers use electric power for daily driving and petrol only when needed.

An electric vehicle (EV) is best suited if you can charge regularly and want the lowest running costs and zero exhaust emissions. EVs work particularly well for predictable daily journeys and urban or commuter driving.
If you’re not sure which option suits you best, we’re always happy to talk it through. Our flexible hire options mean you’re not locked in long term, so you can choose what works for you now and change later if your needs change.
